Campers' Feedback
Deborah, September 2010

"Thank you so much for a weekend truly out of this world. All of us loved every minute of it. We have come back overjoyed by how communal living has made us bond so wonderfully. All our kids loved being able to run around freely in such a gorgeous setting. Waking up with the sound of twenty ponies munching on grass was weirdly magical! We loved foraging on the Saturday morning and savouring Ruth's delicious nettle soup for lunch. Not to mention experiencing a beautiful hawk feeding from us and observing a really speedy falcon fly over our heads! Thanks again - your experience is a truly inspiring one. Well done!"

"An idyllic little haven, perfect isolation and sublime beauty. Everyone had immense funVictoria. June 2010Apart from the sheer beauty of the place and the fact that the children could run up the hills around it with such ease, there were delicious touches to this camping adventure: wild flowers in an enamel jug at the entrance to the Living Yurt, further flowers in the 'mess yurt', all the reference books you could need for flowers, birds, local places to visit etc, board games and so many other homely touches."

“The activities and guides were excellent! we spent 3 hours with Rob learning basic nature survival. At the end of the session we weren't quite ready to take on Ray Mears but we'd manage to produce smoke just from rubbing wood together (harder than it looks). On Sunday morning we had a leisurely amble with local ornithologist, Charlie, who taught us to recognise local bird songs, wildflowers and butterflies. We even managed to spot a buzzard and a stoat.”

“The campsite is in the most idyllic setting imaginable.  There was something very wonderful about waking up to the sounds of sheep bleating behind your tent and showering under a huge beech tree.  Even the loo has a view!  Our evenings were spent huddled around the camp fire and barbeque before we retreated to the cosy 'lounge' tent complete with wood burning stove, sheepskin rugs, cushions and lanterns.  The attention to detail was superb and gave the place a really unique and special feel...”

“Highlights for me were Giovanni 'taking the rabbit's pyjamas off', Nick the forager's bread sticks and pesto, the fat and pampered snails, racing to the top of the hill, Brian and Paul with their fabulous birds, the hot shower…”

Becky, June 2009

“We all had such a great time and would love to come back. I have been singing your praises to all my friends, and the children have been asking what activities they could do next time.”

Chris, June 2009

“The day we had was wonderful and we’ll certainly be re-visiting.”

Amanda, July 2009

“I just wanted to say a big thank you for making Caroline's hen weekend so perfect. The campsite was amazing ...when you said that everything was going to be there, I don't think we believed you! But boy, we were wrong, you haven't forgotten a thing! The girls all thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The shower and the big cooking pan were a real hit, not to mention Gordon and Chelsea’s landscape drawing! I would love to return with my husband & kids some time. My husband hates camping but do you know what? I think Safari Britain might just change his mind!”

Jamie Lowe, July 2009

“We had a really great time and everyone really enjoyed themselves. Big thank you to Rob and Geoff as they kept everyone motivated, which was always going to be difficult after Friday night in the Ram! It really is a wonderful location and great fun. I was very sceptical about being able to pull off a weekend with 16 chaps camping, learning about wildflowers and the geology of southern England, but it really worked.
It's a great place/concept and I will certainly be recommended it and hopefully returning for a more leisurely weekend with a few families some day.”

“Just wanted to say a big thank you again.......we had an absolute MAGICAL time, a holiday neither me nor the boys will ever forget, we all cannot wait to come back! It's definitely the perfect solution to a rushed lifestyle and within a few minutes of arriving at the campsite you are transported back to nature and complete serenity. The shower warrants a special mention- it's riveting and i would love to have one installed in my back garden, unfortunately i don't have an amazing view as at the campsite! The best !!!!!!!!!!!!Oh, before i forget..... Rob Fallon is a gem. It takes a lot of talent to be able to entertain 10 boys for 4 hours”

Vicky, August 2009

“Thanks again for such a brilliant time in August. The children had just the bestest ever time and so did the grown ups. My two went to school in Sept waxing lyrical about the whole experience....... chatting about making fire (!), what bugs they saw/caught, how to pick nettles without stinging, the hot outside shower, climbing haybales, swimming in rivers, cooking rabbit and falcon watching..... Thank gawd it didn’t rain either as it was a magical trip, Enid Blyton stuff......”

Fiona, August 2009

"I just wanted to write and thank you for such a great time last week. We have all been talking about what a great time we had (and how exhausted we all feel now!!!) The weather could have been better, but at least it only rained at night and am not sure the kids would have noticed anyway! They had a ball and we lost count of the number of times they ran up and down the hill to the top. It's a great set up, great idea and we all hope that you will be able to continue doing it next year. Keep us posted when you are opening up bookings!!!"

Catherine, August 2009

"It's an incredibly special experience you have created in a magical spot and I'm dearly hope to be able to return next year. I think a child-like spirit was unleashed in all of us, which has to be a great thing."

“Thanks so much for hosting my fantastic hen/mid summer solstice weekend. The perfect setting. Loved the whole retro appeal of the campsite and the yurt was the icing on the cake.”
